In the app
Open the app, go to Account and choose Delete account. If you signed in with Apple, Google or email, the app may ask you to sign in again first. Your data is deleted right away; remaining copies disappear within 30 days.
Without the app
Can you no longer use the app? Email support@podwhale.app from the email address linked to your account, with the subject Account Deletion Request. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours, and we finish the deletion within 30 days.
Cancel Plus first
Deleting your account does not stop a running PodWhale Plus subscription. Cancel it first in the subscriptions of your Apple account or in Google Play, under Payments and subscriptions.
What we delete
- Your account and sign-in details.
- Your podcast subscriptions, playlists, listening history and progress.
- Your settings and what we use for recommendations: the topics, the recommendations made for you and the podcasts you asked us not to recommend.
- The push tokens for notifications and the record of your Plus use.
What we may keep
- Purchase records, for as long as tax and accounting law requires (7 years in the Netherlands). Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep these for us.
- Messages you sent to support, at most 2 years.
- Statistics without your name or email address, at most 14 months.
Never signed in?
Then your account is anonymous: it has no name or email address, and we cannot link it to you. You can still delete it in the app before you remove the app.
